The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) are responsible for the UK ‘Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981’.  The regulations require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given to their employees if they are injured or become ill at work.

We are an approved HSE training provider.  Approval number: 1264/93

The following courses are provided to assist employers meet their obligations under the regulations:

First Aid at Work (FAAW)

Designed to meet the requirements of the HSE.  If your workplace needs a first aider, then under the regulations the training must be provided by a HSE approved training organisation. Four day course, certification is valid for three years.

First Aid at Work Re-Qualification

Two day course allowing holders of a valid FAAW certificate to re-qualify.

Appointed Person First Aid

One day courses allowing a person to deputise for the regular first aider during periods of absence. 

Emergency First Aid

Half day course allowing employers to supplement their general first aid provision in the work place whilst controlling costs and productivity.

Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

Whilst not a legal requirement, the employers risk assessment may recommend the installation of these potentially simple life saving devices.  Half Day course which can include the supply of the AED (AED prices on request).

Fire Marshal First Aid

The Dangerous Substances and Explosives Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) applies to most workplaces where a dangerous substance is present or could be present.  As part of the regulations, employers must: “Provide information and training to employees”.   This course assists employers meet (depending on the risk assessment) their obligations under the Regulations.
